You know, I can write. It is my gift. I am not in person as I am in my writing. Everyone says "You are passionate." Well... okay, I am. And they say "self-assured."
Actually I am bashful. I came from a very, very shy place. It took a lot of love and patience and understanding to get me to have enough brass to throw myself online. But it isn't that big of a deal really. I just say what I'm thinking.
Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that whatever humor and intelligence is here is hidden in reserve. Awkwardness is more what you may notice first. Or my crazy hair.
I do have a friendly nature, but I am the kind who will not meld with a crowd. I'll sneak outside to smell the flowers... or find the dogs and the kids to play with.
There are places I don't belong. One of them is in the make-up department of any store. I now understand why husbands circle the parking lot waiting for their wives. I was watching M being waited on by a fine Nubian goddess at the MAC counter in Dillards. I was maintaining all self-control and trying not to flip out and get crazy with the easter regalia in the children's department. I found a pink feather boa there and thought if I had one as a child, I might have become a girl!
My mother did try to dress me up but it never felt right. I wore shorts under my dresses and took my shoes off as soon as we got in the car to go home.
If I seem self-assured, it is only because I have spent an inordinate amount of time alone with me.
I talk to myself. If you can't talk to yourself, who can you talk to? I sneeze in the general direction of anyone who belittles me for self-communication.
Any questions?
Bam! When did my wave crest? 1012 times my journal has been opened. Since January 15. I know it's not just me doing that. Can I charge for this? Would you send me a nickel, a dime, a quarter... each time you read me? So much cheaper than a latte or a smoothie. Not fattening. Not illegal or immoral, either. 95% less than a lottery ticket. Think it over.

I have to comment on your feather boa, and the previous comment on feather boas! sorry, both of you, all it does is show you have a sense of fun, and like soft fluffy things! me too, won't make you any different, but who cares? it's a fun feather boa!
